In my wanderings this morning, I came across two companies that are using light in different ways to create beautiful, sustainable fabrics. The first, Lumi, is a Los Angeles-based technology and design studio that has invented a method for imprinting photographs on natural fabrics using light. Originally the process was done in sunlight, now it all happens in a studio in LA.
Lumi founder Jesse Gennet told Source4Style that she began screen printing in her basement growing up, but felt the need for a cleaner process.
