Single on Valentine’s Day? (Who cares, it’s a Hallmark Holiday anyway.) But if you do have something planned for the evening, here are some ideas to make it eco-fabulous:
Girls night out? Mix and match the wackiest and sexiest things from your closet for a new, upcycled and fabulous look! Or pick up an eco-friendly dress like this Tencel dress from EcoSkin (definitely in red or black).
We can all agree that dresses made from milk are awesome. But for those of you not so into the dairy thing, there is SOY FABRIC! Made from discarded soybean husks leftover from manufacturing the food product, the fiber (sometimes called “vegetable cashmere”) is soft (like bamboo), antibacterial, easily dyed, moisture absorbent, and UV resistant.
Another miracle fabric? Well, it’s not as strong as cotton or hemp, but is often blended with organic cotton to create a stronger textile with many of the same qualities.

Together they created Between the Sheets, a lingerie and loungewear company that manufactures in New York City’s historic garment district, sources sustainable materials whenever possible, and absolutely refuses to compromise on style.

1. By Nature is a UK Eco Store (they ship to the US though, I checked) that sells bamboo and organic cotton boxers.
The ones pictured here are made from recycled white pine-tree pruning, which, according to the site, is as soft as silk with the feel of cashmere and the coolness of linen. It also regulates body temperature, is antibacterial, fast-drying and biodegradable.
